My subject teachers and the staff were great; they were easily contactable if I ever had a problem. I also had a Learning Support Tutor, who was very helpful and gave me guidance when I needed it.
The best thing about GIC is the College staff. They always take the time to interact with and support the students. I’ve also really enjoyed the student social programme at the College, especially the language café, where I can improve my English and meet fellow students from many different countries.
We’ll support you at every step, from when you first arrive in the UK, to celebrating your successful progression to university. To give you the best experience possible, we encourage you to take part in fun social activities, ensuring you make the most of your time at the College.
Our advisers will be ready to support you even before you arrive in the UK. They will send you a pre-arrival guide filled with useful information and helpful tips, and will be more than happy to answer any questions you have about the process, the College or your studies.
We will be there to support you as soon as you land in the UK. We can pick you up from the airport and take you to your accommodation, and will make sure that you are comfortable and have everything you need.
Once you have accepted your offer to study with us, you can book your airport transfers by filling in the form in the pre-arrival area.
In your first week, you will be shown around the College and the University facilities, and meet the teachers and staff who will be educating and supporting you. We will take you through the process of setting up a bank account and registering with a doctor, and will help you settle in and feel welcome in the UK.
Regular activities will provide you with great opportunities to meet your fellow students, and make friends for life. Sports tournaments, treasure hunts, creative writing and arts & crafts workshops are just some of the ways you can enjoy College life. We also organise trips to Edinburgh and the surrounding countryside.
The College features stylish and modern accommodation, giving you a comfortable and contemporary place to stay – complete with a private bathroom. The accommodation includes all bills, and is close to the University campus, as well as shops, cafés, restaurants and local landmarks.
